As Head Instructor, you will lead the design, execution, and quality assurance of all mat Pilates class offerings at The Palm. You will bring creativity, consistency, and anatomical expertise into a diverse range of classes (e.g., full-body, upper/lower body-focused, core strength, mobility). You’ll also manage the weekly class schedule, support instructor development, and ensure the overall safety, inclusivity, and impact of our programming.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and teach group mat Pilates classes with varied focus (upper body, lower body, core, mobility, breathwork, etc.)
Design and manage the class schedule across weekdays and weekends
Develop a progression plan for members across different experience levels
Ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and motivating studio atmosphere
Provide hands-on adjustments, cueing, and modifications suitable for all body types and fitness levels
Mentor and onboard new instructors as the team grows
Assist with hiring and training of instructors
Collaborate with studio management on programming, community events, and recovery integration (e.g., stretching after sauna/ice bath use)
Maintain studio safety protocols, including proper use of props and injury prevention
Collect and respond to student feedback to maintain instructional excellence
Requirements
Certification in Mat Pilates from a recognized training institution
Proven experience teaching mat Pilates in a group setting
Strong anatomical knowledge and ability to teach safe, alignment-based movement
Ability to offer modifications, progressions, and alternatives for diverse abilities
Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and motivational presence
CPR/AED certification (we sponsor if not yet certified)
Open availability for at least 5 days a week, including some evenings and weekends
Background in physiotherapy, sports therapy, or movement sciences not a must, but a plus
